"train-the-trainer" Program
Children of working parents typically attend Before and After Care programs held in the schools or daycare centers. These programs offer free-play, homework time, and snacks, but typically lack elements which enhance the emotional climate and minimize bullying situations. Amazing Futures Foundation offers such organizations success and self-esteem enrichment classes in the form of train-the-trainer programs.
These packages have several components. The first component is the Leader’s Guide. It contains the Key Concepts, Objectives, Supporting Information, Discussion Questions, and Activities for the Children. The second component is the DVD which contains the lessons in a visually interesting format. The third component is the Kid's Book which contains all the lessons in detail and fun activities that support the lesson. An additional component is the actual training for the Childcare Specialist. This train-the-trainer component has two parts. The first part of the training teaches the Childcare Specialist how to interact with children in a way that promotes self-esteem, using motivational strategies that eliminate the use of humiliation. The second part trains the trainer in the process of implementing the Success and Self-Esteem program.
